In this situation your opponent has your back with the Zipper Choke grips and has forced you to the side he wants to choke you. To begin the escape grab your opponents triceps and sleeve and pull the arm to you as you look into the choke. When your opponent pulls their elbow to finish the choke follow them by going belly down and then rolling to your hip so you are on the other side where they can’t choke you. While maintaining your control of your partners arm sit on their bottom leg and block the foot with your leg so they can’t retake the back. To finish the escape scoot your hips out until you have the angle to establish half guard and switch your grips from the arm that was choking you to the other arm, controlling your opponents shoulder and biceps.
